Michael Lotenero - Artist Profile

Michael's piece, "Sakrifice," won the 'Art and Technology' award at the 15 Minutes Gallery opening exhibition. Michael has been working professionally as a multi-disciplinary designer and artist for almost 20 years. His clients have included The Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, Nintendo, IBM, Lowes, Sony Pictures and Panasonic. His work has been honored with awards from The Addy's, AIGA, IABC Golden Triangles, Print's Regional Design Annuals, HOW Magazine, Graphic Design USA and Graphics. He has also received The Award of Excellence from HOW Magazine, in the Interactive Design and Self Promotion categories. His work has been published widely in various publications, including TIME, The Wall Street Journal, Speak, London's Computer Arts, Adobe.com, The Book of Probes by Marshall Mcluhan (designed by David Carson), Big Magazine, Global Interactive Design (Japan's PIE Books), The Progressive, Surfing Magazine and Raygun. His collaboration with José Muniain on the short film installation "Navarro," which documented his painting process, was a finalist in the D.C. Independent Film Festival and was featured at the Austin Museum of Digital Art and The Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in Michigan. He also was the founder and editor of "Transmission," a quarterly collaborative original packaged art piece produced in limited edition from 1994 - 1996. He has also exhibited his graphic and fine art work in galleries throughout the country in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. *All information provided by the artist.
